La Mesa Mágica is our weekday food program bringing nutritious lunches and dinners to the children of Villa del Sur — where every plate is served with love and purpose.

🌾 Why We Started La Mesa Mágica

In the refugee community of Villa del Sur, food insecurity is a daily reality.

Many of the children we serve eat only once per day, if at all. Without proper nutrition, learning becomes harder. Concentration fades. Growth slows. Energy runs low. But hunger doesn’t just affect the body — it dims the spirit.

That’s why we launched La Mesa Mágica: to ensure every child who walks into La Casita or onto the sports field has access to fresh, balanced meals Monday through Friday.

Because a child can’t chase their dreams on an empty stomach.

🍛 What We Serve

Every weekday, our team prepares two full meals per child:

1. Lunch – Served mid-day at La Casita

2. Dinner – Offered before sports practice or evening programs

Each meal is:

• Cooked fresh with locally sourced ingredients

• Designed for balanced nutrition: protein, grains, vegetables, and fruit

• Served hot and with dignity — no child is ever turned away

We also accommodate food allergies and provide extra portions for children facing acute malnutrition.

1. Meals are prepared by a small team of local cooks and volunteers

2. Food is served directly on-site at La Casita and the nearby sports field

3. We track food inventory and nutritional quality weekly

4. We rely 100% on donor support to fund every meal
